Keeping Families Close at the Ronald McDonald House

Teddy Thomas and Tina Fiorentino of the Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey will speak at the Evening Membership Department (EMD) of the Haddon Fortnightly meeting on Tuesday, February 13th at 7:30pm at the Haddon Fortnightly, Kings Highway and Grove Streets, Haddonfield. They will talk about this home-away-from-home for families who have children being treated at local hospitals. They give families a warm environment to stay for as long as their children are receiving medical treatment.

In connection with this, the women of the EMD gathered to do a Day of Service on Martin Luther King Day to make cozy comforters for the Ronald McDonald House residents. The EMD has had a long relationship with the Ronald McDonald House in Camden since its inception–designing and decorating two of its rooms.  This new project was implemented to give women of all ages an opportunity to be of service in a very hands-on way. These beautiful cozys will bring joy and warmth to the residents and they have already warmed the hearts of the 30+ women and girls who made them.
