Sixty-year-old Shelton Shambry faces fourth-degree abuse and neglect charges for accidentally leaving a 22-month-old in a van in the parking lot of the Lindenwold Speedline station.

A 60-year-old man has been charged in the accidental death of a toddler that perished in a hot vehicle in the parking lot of the Lindenwold PATCO station last month.
Shelton Shambry of Lindenwold was charged with fourth-degree abuse and neglect for allegedly leaving the 22-month-old girl in the vehicle.
According to a statement from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office (CCPO), Shambry was the baby’s legal guardian. He allegedly put her in the car before 6:30 a.m. August 16 and forgot she was there.
The baby was pronounced dead at the scene some nine-and-a-half hours later. The medical examiner ruled her death to be accidental “after an extensive investigation,” the CCPO noted.
Shambry was charged on a summons and released pending future court proceedings.
Anyone charged with a criminal offense is presumed innocent unless and until found guilty in a court of law. An arrest is not a conviction.
