Another Camden County resident has perished from complications related to novel coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the local death toll to 98 fatalities, the county government announced Friday.
The latest COVID-19 related death is a Cherry Hill woman in her 90s.
On Friday, New Jersey crossed the 100,000-case mark, bringing the total number of residents sickened by COVID-19 to 102,196, and the statewide death total to 5,617.
Camden County also announced that its number of confirmed positive cases has hit 2,470, with 455 of those cases and 76 related deaths originating in its long-term care (LTC) facilities.
That brings the percentage of local deaths connected to LTCs to almost 78 percent.
“Today marks the lowest new case total in Camden County since March, and that is thanks entirely to the people of this county who have adapted and resolved themselves to do whatever they can in order to stop the spread of coronavirus, save lives, and protect our front line personnel,” said Camden County Freeholder-Director Lou Cappelli in a statement.
“We know this fight is not over, but the toll taken by this virus would undoubtedly be much worse if not for our residents’ perseverance and commitment to social distancing,” Cappelli said.
The county also reported another 38 local cases of COVID-19.
They are:
- an Audubon woman in her 50s
- a Bellmawr woman in her 30s
- a Berlin woman in her 70s, and a man in his 80s
- two Camden City women, one each in her 30s and 50s
- six Cherry Hill women, four in their 70s, and one each in her 20s and 80s; and five men, two in their 40s, and one each in his 50s, 60s, and 90s
- five Gloucester Township women, two in their 50s, and one each in her 20s, 60s, and 70s
- a Haddon Township man in his 20s
- a Haddonfield man in his 50s
- a Lawnside woman in her 50s, and man in his 60s
- two Lindenwold women in their 20s
- three Pennsauken men, two in their 20s, and one in his 50s; and a woman in her 20s
- a Pine Hill woman in her 40s
- a Stratford woman in her 50s
- two Voorhees women in their 80s, and a man in his 90s
- a Woodlynne woman in her 60s
The Camden County and New Jersey Health Departments are working to facilitate trace investigations into all cases.
