Cherry Hill Police are investigating the hit-and-run death of a township resident whom they say was killed Monday evening on Route 70.

Authorities have identified the victim as 54-year-old Roberto Ramirez-Rangel, but have no leads on suspects in the case.

According to a statement from Cherry Hill Lieutenant Robert Schuenemann, Jr., police responded to the area of Route 70 Eastbound and East Gate Drive around 9:45 p.m. for a report of an injured person in the roadway.

There they discovered Ramirez-Rangel, dead from apparent injuries consistent with being struck by a motor vehicle.

Police believe the driver was operating a dark-colored sport utility vehicle or pickup truck, which allegedly fled the scene prior to investigators arriving.
