A Pine Hill man who allegedly drove his car onto the front lawn of a Cherry Hill neighborhood Wednesday told police he had been arguing with a passenger in his car who attempted to shoot him when it happened.

Around 7 p.m. March 9, police responded to the 300 block of Pettit Avenue, a small side street near the intersection of Church and Haddonfield Roads, for the report of an accident. There they met with a 41-year-old Pine Hill resident who claimed he had been arguing with a passenger in his car, another adult male, who then allegedly produced a gun and attempted to shoot him. The driver told police that the man ran off before they arrived.

According to police, a witness at the scene confirmed hearing a gunshot, and a handgun was recovered nearby. Police also discovered a bullet hole in the door of an attached shed on nearby Linderman Avenue. The shed had been unoccupied at the time. No one was injured in the incident, and no arrests were made.

Authorities said an investigation into the case remains ongoing. Anyone with information should call Cherry Hill Det.
