McGrath had been reported missing since October 27; on November 15, her remains were discovered in the area of 8th Street and Atlantic Avenue in Camden City.

On November 28, Camden County Prosecutor’s Office (CCPO) detectives and Camden County Metro Police arrested 53-year-old Carlos Acevedo of Camden City on charges of second-degree Disturbing Human Remains. He was remanded to the Camden County jail.

On December 5, Acevedo was charged with first-degree Murder in McGrath’s death, according to the CCPO.

All people charged with crimes are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. An arrest is not a conviction.
