A Haddon Heights man pleaded guilty July 14 to sexually assaulting his three-year-old relative and sharing photos and videos of the abuses online.
Forty-four-year-old Jason R. Anderson is expected to face a 35 years in New Jersey State Prison, nearly all of which he will be required to serve without the possibility of parole, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office (CCPO) reported.
Additionally, Anderson will be subject to parole supervision for life and must register with the Megan’s Law sex offender registry.
On February 10, 2025, someone allegedly found images and videos on Anderson’s cell phone of him sexually abusing the girl, and notified police. Anderson was arrested that day and remanded to the Camden County jail, the CCPO reported.
He is scheduled to be sentenced at 9 a.m. October 30 before Camden County Superior Court Judge Roger Lai.
CCPO Special Victims Unit (SVU) Section Chief Rachael Minardi prosecuted the case, which was overseen by CCPO SVU Det. Todd Jarrell and Haddon Heights Police Lt. Michael Smollock.
Anderson was represented by attorney Ross Gigliotti of Cherry Hill.
CCPO Prosecutor Grace MacAulay described Anderson’s actions as “unspeakable and “defy[ing] comprehension.
“Although no sentence can undo the devastating harm caused to this child, this plea agreement holds the defendant accountable while protecting the victim and her family from the ordeal of a public trial,” MacAulay said in a written statement accompanying the announcement.
“Our hope is that they can now begin to heal and look ahead to a brighter future.”
