P.J.W. Restaurant Group, the entity behind Treno, The Pour House, and P.J. Whelihan’s Pub, has added a fourth location in Haddon Township, all within half a mile of Haddon Avenue.

In a statement today, the company confirmed its acquisition of The Irish Mile, the craft beer pub at 350 Haddon Avenue.

The group is proud to have been part the thriving Haddon community for over 20 years, and has greatly appreciated the support of the local customers at three restaurants on Haddon Avenue,” the statement read.

The Mile had been shuttered since Wednesday, a note advising customers of the change in ownership taped to the front door.

“We’re happy to have made a transaction with the management team from PJ Whelihan’s,” Irish Mile co-owner John Sandone said Friday. “They were people of good faith and people of their word. I’m sure they’ll bring an asset for the people of Haddon Avenue.”

P.J.W. Restaurant Group hasn’t settled on any concept for the location, which will be (at least) its 21st after it opens a P.J. Whelihan’s restaurant in Malvern in September.
