Congressmen Visit EMR to Stump for Regulation of Batteries Blamed for Scrapyard Fires
Donald Norcross and Frank Pallone joined EMR CEO Joe Balzano in calling for Congress to develop a process for keeping lithium-ion batteries out of the waste and recycling streams. The rechargeable batteries, which power all manner of consumer electronics, are increasingly blamed for fires at metal recovery facilities.
