Locally, the pandemic has infected 9,711 Camden County residents and claimed the lives of 562 people.

Eight more Camden County residents have lost their battles with novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and 172 others have been sickened by the virus this week, according to reports from the Camden County government.
That brings the local impact of the pandemic to 562 related deaths and 9,711 infected people.
“Even as our state continues to make progress towards recovery, we are keeping all victims and their families in our thoughts and prayers,” said Camden County Freeholder-Director Lou Cappelli in a statement Friday.
The most recently deceased are:
- a Camden City man in his 60s and a woman in her 70s
- a Cherry Hill man in his 50s
- a Gloucester Township woman in her 80s
- a Lindenwold man in his 70s
- a Pennsauken man in his 80s
- two Voorhees men, one each in his 60s and 80s
Throughout New Jersey, 190,971 people have been sickened by COVID-19, and 14,150 have perished from causes related to the virus. In addition to those lab-confirmed fatalities, the state also recognizes another 1,780 probable COVID-19-related deaths.

LTC cases and deaths
Long-term care (LTC) facilities account for almost half of all deaths in the state and one-fifth of those infected, and new cases are still being discovered there.
Of 9,711 reported local COVID-19 cases, 1,922 (20 percent) have originated in a Camden County LTC facility: 1,369 are residents and 553 are staff.
LTCs are believed to be associated with 57 percent, or 317 of the 562 total deaths in Camden County; 314 were residents and three were staff.
More than half the 56 LTCs in Camden County (34) have experienced at least one case of COVID-19.
New cases
According to the New Jersey Department of Health COVID-19 dashboard, on August 28, Camden County was second in the state in new COVID-19 cases, with 38.
The newest local cases since last weekend (172) are:
- three Audubon women, one each in her 20s, 30s, and 50s
- three Bellmawr women, one each in her 20, 40s and 50s; and two men, one each in his 20s and 60s, and a teenaged boy
- a Berlin Borough woman in her 30s
- a Berlin Township woman in her 50s and man in his 70s
- 10 Camden City women, three each in their 30s and 40s, two in their 20s, and one each in her 60s and 70s; and four men, two in their 30s, one each in his 40s and 60s, two teenaged boys, and a young boy
- 14 Cherry Hill men, six each in their 20s and 50s, one each in his 60s and 70s, six teenaged boys, and a young boy; and 12 women, three each in their 20s, 40s, and 50s, two in their 70s, one in her 60s, and five teenaged girls
- a Clementon woman in her 50s
- a Collingswood woman in her 20s
- 11 Gloucester Township men, five in their 50s, three in their 20s, two in their 40s, one in his 70s, and a young boy; and six women, three in their 50s, two in their 30s, one in her 20s, three young girls, and two teenaged girls
- a Haddon Heights man in his 40s
- a Haddon Township man and woman in their 50s
- two Haddonfield men, one each in his 20s and 30s; and two women, one each in her 30s and 50s
- a Laurel Springs woman in her 60s
- a Lawnside man in his 20s and woman in her 30s
- four Lindenwold women, two in their 30s and one each in her 20s and 40s; and a man in his 20s
- seven Pennsauken women, three in their 20s, two each in their 30s and 50s, and a young girl; and five men, two in their 40s, one each in his 30s, 50s, and 70s, and a young boy
- three Pine Hill women, one each in her 20s, 30s, and 120s; and two men in their 30s
- four Runnemede women, two in their 30s and one each in her 50s and 60s; two men in their 20s and a teenaged boy
- a Somerdale woman in her 40s and man in his 50s
- two Stratford women, one each in her 30s and 50s
- eight Voorhees men, two each in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, one each in his 60s and 70s, and two young boys; and seven women, two each in their 40s and 50s, one each in her 20s, 60s, and 90s, and a young girl
- six Winslow women, two in their 20s, one each in her 30s, 40s, 50s, and 70s, three teenaged girls, and a young girl; and five men, two each in their 20s and 50s, and one in his 30s
- a Woodlynne teenaged girl and woman in her 40s
The Camden County and New Jersey Health Department are working to facilitate trace investigations into all cases.
