Locally, the pandemic has infected 9,810 Camden County residents and claimed the lives of 564 people.

Two more Camden County residents have lost their battles with novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and 99 others have been sickened by the virus since the weekend, according to reports from the Camden County government.
That brings the local impact of the pandemic to 564 related deaths and 9,810 infected people.
The most recently deceased are a Cherry Hill man in his 70s and a Winslow Township woman in her 90s.
Camden County has averaged about 27 new cases per day in the past week, “a stark departure from where we were just a few months ago, when each day saw more than 100 new cases,” said Camden County Freeholder-Director Lou Cappelli in a statement.
“We can sustain this progress if we take our role in this fight seriously,” Cappelli said. “We can’t afford to have anyone neglecting their individual responsibility to help fight the spread.”
Throughout New Jersey, 192,595 people have been sickened by COVID-19, and 14,181 have perished from causes related to the virus. In addition to those lab-confirmed fatalities, the state also recognizes another 1,780 probable COVID-19-related deaths.

LTC cases and deaths
Long-term care (LTC) facilities account for almost half of all deaths in the state and one-fifth of those infected, and new cases are still being discovered there.
Of 9,810 reported local COVID-19 cases, 2,024 (20 percent) have originated in a Camden County LTC facility: 1,443 are residents and 581 are staff.
LTCs are believed to be associated with 57 percent, or 336 of the 564 total deaths in Camden County; 333 were residents and three were staff.
More than half the 56 LTCs in Camden County (34) have experienced at least one case of COVID-19.
New cases
According to the New Jersey Department of Health COVID-19 dashboard, on September 2, Camden County was tied for sixth in the state in new COVID-19 cases, with 21.
The newest local cases since the weekend (99) are:
- two Audubon men, one each in his 50s and 70s; and a woman in her 20s
- two Bellmawr men in their 30s, and a woman in her 90s
- a Berlin Borough teenaged girl, and a person of unknown gender in their 40s
- a Berlin Township man in his 20s
- a Brooklawn man in his 20s
- six Camden City women, two each in their 20s and 30s, and one each in her 50s and 60s; and five men, one each in his 20s, 30s, 50s, 70s, and 80s, and a young boy
- four Cherry Hill men, three in their 20s and one in his 50s, and two teenaged boys; three women, one each in her 20s, 30s, and 50s, two teenaged girls, and a teenager of unknown gender
- two Clementon men, one each in his 20s and 50s
- a Collingswood woman in her 50s
- three Gloucester City men in their 30s, and two teenaged boys; and three women, two in their 60s and one in her 30s
- five Gloucester Township women, two each in their 20s and 40s, and one in her 60s; and three men, one each in his 30s, 40s, and 50s, and two teenaged boys
- a Haddon Township man in his 30s
- a Haddonfield young girl, and teenaged boy
- a Lawnside woman in her 80s
- five Lindenwold women, two each in their 20s and 60s, and one in her 50s; and a man in his 30s
- a Mount Ephraim man in his 20s
- four Pennsauken men, two in their 30s, and one each in his 20s and 80s; and three women, two in their 40s and one in her 20s
- two Pine Hill women, one each in her 20s and 60s; and a man in his 60s
- three Runnemede men, one each in his 20s, 30s, and 60s; a young girl, and woman in her 80s
- a Stratford teenaged boy and man in his 50s
- five Voorhees women, one each in her 20s, 30s, 60s, 80s, and 90s, and a teenaged girl; a teenaged boy and a man in his 90s
- four Winslow women, one each in her 20s, 40s, 50s, and 60s, and a teenaged girl; and three men in their 20s
The Camden County and New Jersey Health Department are working to facilitate trace investigations into all cases.
