Cherry Hill Police are investigating a fatal, multi-vehicle accident that they say claimed the life of one person and injured two others Thursday night.

Around 8:40 p.m. August 3, a trio of motorcycles was headed north on North Kings Highway in the area of Daytona Avenue.

Police said one of their riders struck a 2005 Lexus ES in front of an office building in the 1100 block of the street, suffering fatal injuries.

The motorcycle then reportedly rebounded off the Lexus and into a second motorcycle in the group, injuring its rider in another crash.

Police said the Lexus driver sustained minor injuries, was treated at Kennedy Hospital, and was released, while third motorcycle apparently escaped unscathed. North Kings Highway was closed for several hours. None of the parties involved has been identified.

Authorities are asking for anyone who may have seen the crash, or the drivers of the motorcycles riding on Routes 73, 70, and I-295 prior to the crash, to contact the Cherry Hill Police Traffic Safety Unit at 856-488-7820.
