Haddon Township Police ID Victim Discovered on New Year’s Eve

Police identified the victim as 54-year-old Tonilynn Rota of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her death is not believed to be suspicious.

Haddon Township Police have confirmed the identity of a body recovered in the township on New Year’s Eve.

Police responded to a report of an unconscious person at approximately 11:50 p.m. on December 31, 2016 in the area of Route 130 Southbound at Newton Creek. There, they recovered the body of Tonilynn Rota, 54, of Philadelphia.

In a statement, Haddon Township Police Captain Scott Bishop said the cause of Rota’s death has yet to be determined, but is not believed to be suspicious. Authorities are still investigating the matter until the medical examiner returns a cause of death.

Rota was laid to rest January 5. She is survived by immediate and extended family.
